RAGNHILDUR JÓHANNS

INTIMATE STILL LIFE NARRATIVES

Reykjavík, Iceland

Ragnhildur Jóhanns

Ragnhildur Jóhanns is an Icelandic visual artist whose still life paintings introduce a dynamic interplay between structured beauty and human presence. Through the unexpected inclusion of a female hand, often seen touching, holding, or arranging objects, she disrupts the traditional still life, transforming it into a narrative moment filled with life and intimacy. Her work invites viewers to engage with the tactile relationship we have with the world, offering a deeper connection to nature’s beauty. By challenging the stillness of classical aesthetics, Jóhanns creates a charged atmosphere that speaks to the movement, energy, and humanity within the objects that surround us.
