Everything you need to know about commissioning a custom artwork or mural with Moné.
Moné guides collectors through a seamless, curated process to create custom artwork and murals. Our policies are designed to ensure clarity, confidence, and excellence at every stage of the collaboration.
THE ART COMMISSION PROCESS
STEP 1:
Begin by submitting the commission form with your vision, ideas, and reference materials. A Moné art advisor will review your submission within 1–3 business days to ensure it aligns with the artist’s current focus and availability.
STEP 2:
Once your project is approved, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to officially confirm the commission. This deposit covers initial design, materials, and administrative costs, and allows the artist to begin creation.
STEP 3:
The artist brings your approved concept to life, with Moné overseeing the process to ensure every detail meets our standards of craftsmanship and your expectations. Depending on the type of artwork, you may receive updates throughout the creation process or once the piece is complete.
STEP 4:
Once completed, Moné guides you through a final review to ensure the artwork aligns with the approved concept. At this stage, the remaining 50% of the commission, along with any shipping and handling fees, is due. Your commissioned piece is then delivered or installed.
Art Commissions & Murals FAQs
Before work begins, Moné will provide a detailed concept for your approval. This may include sketches, digital renderings, or written descriptions. The approved concept serves as the foundation for the final artwork. Requests for revisions beyond this initial approval may incur additional charges.
For the duration of the commission, all communication regarding the project must be directed through Moné. We will maintain an email thread including the artist to oversee the process and ensure clarity. Moné acts as the sole administrator of the commission process, including approvals, concept revisions, and dispute resolution. Any instructions, requests, or approvals communicated directly to the artist without Moné’s involvement are not recognized and may result in delays or forfeiture of the deposit. All approvals and communications must be submitted in writing through Moné-managed correspondence. Failure to follow this communication protocol does not constitute grounds for refund, cancellation, or dispute of the agreed-upon deposit or commission terms.
A 50% deposit is required to confirm commissioned or mural projects through Moné Gallery. This deposit covers initial design, material acquisition, and administrative costs and is non-refundable. The remaining balance must also be paid through Moné Gallery. All payments must be processed through Moné Gallery to ensure your commission is officially confirmed and fully protected.
All commissioned and custom artwork sales are final upon completion and delivery. Refunds or cancellations are only possible if there are significant deviations from the approved concept or if the project cannot be completed due to circumstances beyond the artist’s control.
Work on your commissioned artwork or mural will only begin once all required materials have been submitted and the concept has been formally approved. While your deposit secures your commission, it does not automatically start the project; final approvals are essential before the artist begins.
Buyers are expected to respond to all requests for approvals, feedback, or any information necessary to complete the project within five business days. If you know you will be away or temporarily unavailable (e.g., on holiday), please notify us in advance so timelines can be adjusted. Delays caused by lack of response may impact completion dates. Artist availability cannot be held during periods of non-response.
If no response is received for fourteen calendar days without prior notice, Moné reserves the right to cancel the commission. In such cases, the deposit is non-refundable, and the artist is not obligated to commence, complete, or deliver the artwork.
Each stage of the project may require approval before moving to the next phase. Any requests for changes beyond the approved concept do not pause or extend your response deadlines unless explicitly agreed in writing. Prompt responses help keep your commission on schedule and ensure the final artwork meets your expectations.
Moné may, at its discretion, extend response deadlines in cases of unforeseen circumstances communicated by the Buyer, ensuring the commission can still be completed successfully.
All commissioned artworks and murals are completed to the highest standards of craftsmanship, in line with the approved concept and the artist’s style. Minor variations inherent to the creative process are natural and do not constitute grounds for dispute.
Once the artwork is completed, it is considered final. Any requests for changes beyond the agreed-upon scope cannot be accommodated. Moné ensures satisfaction with the concept before work begins to avoid surprises later.
Buyers are responsible for shipping and handling costs unless otherwise stated. For murals, the buyer must ensure the site is prepared (e.g., primed walls, clear access). Any delays or additional costs due to unprepared conditions are the buyer’s responsibility.
The buyer must inspect completed artwork within seven (7) days of delivery, or for murals, immediately upon completion. Any issues or concerns must be communicated within this timeframe. If no notice is given, the artwork will be considered accepted as delivered.
Moné’s responsibility is limited to adherence to the agreed-upon concept. Dissatisfaction based on personal taste or aesthetic preference after concept approval does not constitute grounds for a refund or revision.
Moné and the artist are dedicated to delivering commissioned and mural artworks of the highest quality. Open communication throughout the process ensures the final work aligns with the buyer’s vision while showcasing the artist’s craft.
In the rare event of a disagreement about adherence to the approved concept, Moné will act as the sole arbitrator. Moné’s decision regarding the project’s alignment with the initial approval is final.
